President Trump has signaled possible tariff relief for United States carmakers, stating his administration is looking at ways to help them as they adjust operations. Car companies that have relocated sourcing to Canada, Mexico, and other countries may be given more time to relocate production back to the United States. However, the USMCA trade agreement offers partial protection from new tariffs for automobiles and automotive parts manufactured in Canada and Mexico.
